Iowa QuiltScape for August 1, 2020

New Exhibit!
Out of Control: Quilts that Break the Rules

On display through October 4th
Curated by Barbara Brackman & Deb Rowden

Barbara Brackman & Deb Rowden, two Kansas collectors with a special affinity for the “odd,” have compiled a unique collection of wild and wonderful vintage quilts to populate this exhibit. The patterns, color choices, designs, and even the workmanship will have us wondering, “What was she thinking?”

We feel pretty confident in saying that you’ve never seen a quilt exhibit quite like this before!

Virtual Tour of the Madison County Airing of the Quilts

If you weren’t able to join us for the 2020 Madison County Airing of the Quilts, or just want to re-live it, we invite you to take a trip through the photo display that we’ve created! You can find it by clicking the button below.

We’re so grateful to all of the Iowa quilters who loaned their treasures for display, to the dozens of volunteers who made the event possible and to everyone who came to Winterset to see the quilts. Mark next year’s date on your calendars, June 5, 2021!
