In addition to being super fun, and colorful, community event, the Madison County Airing of the Quilts is the primary annual fundraiser for the Iowa Quilt Museum. Funds raised through ticket sales and the quilt auction go directly toward exhibits and programming that help us fulfill our mission to promote appreciation of the American quilt and the art of quilting.
If you weren’t able purchase a ticket to this year’s event, consider making a donation to the Iowa Quilt Museum instead as you enjoy this virtual tour through historic and picturesque Winterset, Iowa, and the 2020 Madison County Airing of the Quilts.
Join Curator, Millie Kerhli, this September 19th at 3 PM and learn more about Mary’s journey into the quilting world, her extensive research, and hear about the quilts in our exhibit.
