Space is limited so we encourage you to register in advance using THIS LINK. Cost is $20 which all goes to the Iowa Quilt Museum so we can keep bringing you amazing quilt exhibits and a variety of programs and events.

Last Days to See “Waste Not, Want Not”

Closes Sunday, January 27th

If you haven’t been to the Iowa Quilt Museum yet to see this amazing exhibit of scrappy quilts, take advantage of this unseasonably decent weather and head to Winterset! This display features over three dozen quilts that embody the long-held philosophy among quilters of utilizing the smallest scraps for their art.

The Iowa Art Quilters group exists to support textile artists interested in studio art rather than traditional genres. Members will display self-portrait quilts and other works while sharing how each quilter’s artistic journey has influenced her or his work.

SAVE THE DATE: 2019 Airing of the Quilts

Saturday, April 27th

Make plans to join us for the 2nd Annual Madison County Airing of the Quilts featuring hundreds of quilts on display throughout our
beautiful and historic community.

Want to exhibit your quilt at the IQM?

Occasionally we like to host a ‘pop-up’ exhibit during special events or in celebration of certain holidays. We’re planning two such exhibits in the next few months: snowy quilts on January 26th to coordinate with our ‘Sip, Stitch, Knit & View’ event and Irish Chain quilts on March 16th for National Quilting Day. If you have a snowy quilt (yes, that’s a vague category) or an Irish Chain quilt that you’d like to submit for these two ‘pop-up’ exhibits, email a picture to director@iowaquiltmuseum.org or message it to us on Facebook. If we decide to use your quilt, we’ll give you the rest of the details.

Become a Member of the Iowa Quilt Museum

Admission revenue from visitors makes up about a third of our annual budget here at the IQM. For the rest of our operating expenses we rely on merchandise sales in our gift shop, special events and the generosity of people like you who understand the importance of quiltmaking as an important artistic legacy that must be advanced and celebrated. Your purchase of a supporting membership will help ensure that the Iowa Quilt Museum can continue to thrive and fulfill its mission to promote appreciation of the American quilt and the art of quilting.
