We need a variety of volunteers to make Iowa Quilt Festival Airing of the Quilts successful. All volunteers receive free admission into the event.

Quilt Hanger Upper

Wear your Fitbit and get those steps in! This is one of the hardest positions to fill but one of the most important. Without quilts hanging, we can’t have a show!

This position will pick up the proper quilts at the Iowa Quilt Museum and then drive out to their designated bridge/location to hang quilts. We have multiple positions open to make this an easy and quick job. A ladder and/or step stool will already be at the correct location. No worries if you’ve never done this before, you will have an experienced hanger upper with you!

The time allotment is one hour from 9 am to 10 am on Saturday, June 3.

Quilt Supervisor & Smiling Face

If you like people and sharing your knowledge of quilts and the area, this one is for you!

Your main job is to warmly greet our visitors and ‘chat them up’. If they have questions about our community or this event, tell them what you can. We will supply you with Madison County maps and brochures if anyone needs more information.

The second part of your job is to keep an eye on the visitors/quilts and make sure nothing is happening that shouldn’t be. Visitors shouldn’t be touching the quilts. Visitors will have a wristband that serves as their ticket.

Time slots are two hours each:

  • 10 am to 12 pm
  • 12 pm to 2 pm
  • 2 pm to 4 pm.

Quilt Taker Downer

We know. It’s the end of the day, everyone is tired. The more people we have to help take down, the faster it goes and the less of a “downer” it really is. The take-down process is one-hour from 4 PM to 5 Pm. Once you’re done, it’ll be just the right time to go check out some of our local restaurants.
