This weekend we honor US Military Veterans and their service to our country. The flags are flying proudly around the Winterset town square, the VFW Auxiliary is selling their remembrance poppies and the Iowa Quilt Museum is observing Veterans Day with a special exhibit of Quilts of Valor and a QOV award ceremony.

The Quilts of Valor will on display both Saturday (10:00 – 4:00) and Sunday (12:00 – 4:00). On Sunday, admission is free for US Military Veterans.

You’re invited to a ceremony where Quilts of Valor will be awarded to twelve veterans at the New Life Lutheran Church in Norwalk on Sunday, November 11th, at 1:00 pm.

Iowa Quilt Museum
Seven veterans will be honored at the Iowa Quilt Museum at 4:30 pm on Sunday. The Iowa Quilt Museum is proud to serve at the national headquarters for the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
