Iowa QuiltScape for April 24, 2019

Madison County Airing of the Quilts is THIS WEEKEND!

We hope you’re as excited as we are that we’re only 3 days away from the Madison County Airing of the Quilts!

The weather isn’t looking to be as nice as we had ordered, but rest assured that the cloudy skies won’t keep us down! There will still be plenty of wonderful quilts to see if the rain is falling.

If you’ve already purchased a ticket (or do so between now and Friday afternoon), your first stop on Saturday morning will be to the Iowa Quilt Museum. Bypass the line and look for the “Pick Up Tickets Here.” If you need to purchase a ticket on Saturday, you can do that at the Iowa Quilt Museum or the Madison County Chamber of Commerce which is located on the Northeast Corner of the town square. This $20 ticket is needed for admission to quilt displays at eleven locations including: five churches, three historic homes, the Madison County Historical Museum, the upstairs gallery at Piece Works Quilt Shop and the Iowa Quilt Museum.

There will also be quilts displayed at other locations around Madison County including three of our historic covered bridges, Winterset City Park, Winterset Public Library, the Madison County Courthouse (built in the 1870s) and more! And if that’s not enough, we’ve also partnered with the Central Iowa Auto Club for a display of classic cars and quilts and the Winterset Fire Department to display quilts on their antique fire engine!

This event is a one-of-a-kind community-wide color-fest of quilts and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Tickets to the dinner are sold out, but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed your chance to take home a treasure. Peruse the list of auction items that can be found here. When you find something you like, send us your bid limit and we’ll appoint someone to bid on your behalf. Contact our director, Megan Barrett via email to make arrangements: director@iowaquiltmuseum.org.
