Erick Wolfmeyer: 25 Years In Iowa

The Iowa Quilt Museum is excited to present a solo exhibition celebrating quilt artist Erick Wolfmeyer and his remarkable 25-year journey in Iowa.
In 2001, Erick moved to Iowa specifically to learn more on the art of quilting. What began as a new adventure has grown into a celebrated body of work. This special exhibition brings together a curated selection of his quilts that tell the story of those 25 transformative years. Mark your calendars! Sound and Light: Composing Quilts
January 19, 2027 through April 18, 2027
What do quilts and music have in common? Both can be created through rhythm, pattern, repetition, variation, and improvisation. Joe Cunningham is inspired by composer John Cage’s exploration of sound and chance. Sound & Light brings together historic and contemporary quilts that explore the abstract qualities shared by music and quiltmaking.
Bonnie Hunter: Quilts from the Mountains to the Plains
April 20, 2027 through August 1, 2027
From the mountains where she lives to the plains of Iowa, Bonnie K. Hunter brings her love of scrap quilting to the Iowa Quilt Museum. Bonnie transforms scraps and humble fabrics into quilts filled with color, pattern, and personality. This solo exhibition celebrates Bonnie’s distinctive approach to scrap quilting and the quilts that have carried her creative journey from the mountains to here in the plains.
